HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen would score one run in each of the first three innings to steadily build a 3-0 lead. Two of the runs came off wild pitches by the Lions.

• After a bunt single from junior shortstop Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) brought in a run, Austin's blast in the fourth inning would make it 7-0 in favor of the home team.

• The Lions walked the bases loaded with no one out in the bottom of the fifth and senior first baseman Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) hit a sacrifice fly to end the game via the eight-run rule.

• Junior starter Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) pitched all five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out eight, to earn the win (11-0).

• Senior center fielder Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two walks, a triple and a pair of stolen bases. Conti went 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

• This win boosted the Anchorwomen win streak to 17 games.
