RIC Bests WestConn, 6-3, on Senior Day

Providence, R.I.--Junior Zach Siemmao (Wakefield, R.I.) clinched a 6-3 victory for the Anchormen over Western Connecticut with a three-set win at fourth singles in Little East action played the RIC Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen swept all three doubles matches with juniors Noah Morin (Smithfield, R.I.) and Elijah Gouin (Glocester, R.I.) securing a shutout (8-0) at first doubles.
 
• Senior Peter Pond (Providence, R.I.) won (6-0, 6-2) at No. 6 singles before the Wolves won three straight to pull within a point, 4-3. After dropping his first set, Siemmao won the next two sets to secure the win for the Anchormen.
 
• Pond, Josh Brien (Johnston, R.I.) and Jack Cadden (Mattapoisett, Mass.) were recognized, along with their families, as part of Senior Day prior to the match.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will begin play in the 2024 Little East Men's Tennis Championship next week.
