Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI as the Rhode Island College defeated Salve Regina, 9-0 (six innings), in the first game of a doubleheader played at Toppa Field on Tuesday afternoon.

• After the first three innings went scoreless, a two-run shot by freshman catcher
Brianna Bailey (Windsor, Conn.) gave the Anchorwomen a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest.
