Emmanuel College (13-5)
Rhode Island College (10-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC was without its top offensive threat in sophomore outside hitter Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.).

• The two sides were neck and neck early in the first set, but the hosts would see it through, 25-16, and closed out the stanza off a RIC attack error.

• The Saints would get off to a slow start in set two, but thanks to a kill from junior outside hitter Isabella Marquez (Miami, Fl.), Emmanuel would win by 11, 25-14, and build a 2-0 lead.

• The Anchorwomen found life in the third set, as kills from sophomore defensive specialist Marina Colonis (Waterford, Conn.) and classmate right side hitter Talia Lewis (Sacramento, Calif.) helped edge the Saints, 25-21, and pull within one, 2-1.

• Emmanuel closed out the match, off a RIC attack error and a kill by Marquez, to down the Anchorwomen, 25-17, in four sets and win the match.

• Colonis registered five kills and 11 digs for the evening.

• Sophomore defensive specialist Carolyn Bailey (Ipswich, Mass.) led the team with 20 digs.

• RIC has lost its last three matches.
