King's Point, N.Y.—Junior 165 lbs. Christopher McCarthy (Middletown, N.J.) went 2-0 with a pin and technical fall win as Rhode Island College split a pair of matches at the United State Merchant Marine Academy's Mariner Duals on Saturday afternoon.
 
THE HIGHLIGHTS:
• The Anchormen (6-5) fell, 28-12, vs. the hosts in their first action of the day.
 
• McCarthy had a tech. fall, junior 125 lbs. Fred Luchs (Belford, N.J.) notched a major decision and junior Matthew Kelly (Katonah, N.Y.) picked up a decision in the contest.
 
• RIC then dominated Hunter, 48-6, with the club's only setback coming in a medical forfeit. The Anchormen rattled off seven pins and two forfeits to earn a split on the day.
 
• Luchs notched the fastest pin (0:53) and joined McCarthy and Kelly with a pair of victories on the day.
