Springfield, Mass.--Senior Edward Garofalo (Newport, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fourth place finish in the triple jump (13.96m) as Rhode Island College tied for 26th place (36 teams) at the New England Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Springfield on May 5-6.

• The Anchormen tied for 26th (36 teams) with a team score of 8.0. MIT won the title with a score of 143.0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Edward Garofalo (Newport, R.I.) placed fourth in the triple jump (13.96m) to earn All-New England honors.
 
• Freshman Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a sixth place finish in the hammer (50.73m).
 
• Senior Andre Solomon-Messier (Providence, R.I.) placed 13^th in the 10,000m (33:10.26).
 
• Freshman Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) placed 11^th in the hammer (48.50m).
