Boston, Mass.—Freshman Jaden Saunders (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 15^th in the high jump as Rhode Island College finished the first day of competition at the 2023 NEICAAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Northeastern on Friday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen did not score as a team. The University of Rhode Island is currently in first place with a team score of 42.0.
 
• There Div. I, II and III institutions competing at the event.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Edward Garofalo (Newport, R.I.) finished 11th in the triple jump (13.50m).

• Saunders finished 15^th in the high jump (1.85m).
 
• Freshman Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished 16^th in the hammer (53.09m).
 
• Senior Andre Solomon-Messier (North Providence, R.I.) finished 25^th in the 10,000m (33:46.71).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday, May 18.
