Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College freshman Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) was named the Little East Men's Rookie Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational on April 15. It is the second consecutive week that Culhane has received this award.
 
He finished first in the hammer (50.64m).
 
RIC placed 13^th (20 teams) with a team score of 27.0. Springfield won the invite with a score of 152.0.
 
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
