Medbury's Career-High 25 Points Lead No. 4 RIC Past No. 11 Trinity, 60-56

Hartford, Conn.--Junior guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) recorded a career-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds as the No. 4 Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated No. 11 Trinity, 60-56, on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen kicked the game off with a three-pointer by fifth-year forward Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.), but the two teams would hang with each other as Trinity held a two-point, 11-9, lead after the first quarter.
 
• RIC would take control in the second quarter, going on a 17-5 run over eight minutes, to go into the locker room up by five, 26-21.
 
• In the third, the Anchorwomen would score just nine points across five minutes of game clock, all of which came on a trio of Medbury three-pointers. Strong defense from RIC would help the visitors hold a three-point, 41-38, advantage going into the fourth quarter.
 
• Medbury would hit two more deep shots in the first minute of the fourth quarter as the Bantams hung within a possession for the majority of the final frame. Fifth-year guard Olivia Middleton (Barrington, R.I.) sank a pair of free throws with 21 seconds remaining to secure the win.
 
• Middleton finished with 11 points and four boards.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East play at home vs. VTSU Castleton on Saturday, Dec. 2 (1 p.m.).
