Katrina Kazen (Warwick, R.I.) and junior second baseman
Alexis LeBelle (Warwick, R.I.) were recognized on Senior Day and then helped the Anchorwomen close out the 2022 season by sweeping Keene State (5-2; 4-1) at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• RIC put two across in the bottom of the first as junior third baseman
Cassidy Schoen (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) smacked in RBI double and classmate catcher
Alexis Boyce (Wolcott, Conn.) knocked in another on an infield single.
• Keene State freshman center fielder
Liv Whittier (Gill, Mass.) belted a solo homer in the second, but LeBelle reached on an error in the home half of the frame and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
• The Owls once again pulled within a run in the fourth on sophomore designated player
Megan Blanchette's (Hopkinton, N.H.) RBI double.
• RIC added two insurance runs in the fourth on an Owl throwing effort and a sacrifice fly by freshman left fielder
Sarah Mickelson (New Milford, Conn.) to help solidify the win.
• Freshman starter
Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) earned the win (6-8) with an eight-strikeout performance.
• KSC graduate pitcher
Alexis Blanchette (Hopkinton, N.H.) took the loss (1-6).
• Sophomore center fielder
Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
GAME TWO
• Keene State freshman starter
Lilah Demmy (Wayne, Pa.) was perfect through the first four-plus innings, setting down 13 consecutive Anchorwomen as the visitors held on to a 1-0 lead.
• Sophomore first baseman
Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) broke through with a one-out single in the fifth as the hosts proceeded to load the bases. Freshman shortstop
Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) tied the game with an RBI single and then Katz ripped a three-run triple to break the game open.
• Sophomore reliever
Tatiana Burcy (Boston, Mass.) earned the win (4-3), hurling four innings of scoreless relief.
• Demmy suffered the loss (7-9).
