Justin Dorsey (Warwick, R.I.) established a new program record in the 5,000m as the Rhode Island College men's track and field team competed at the Beacon Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore
Mahari Nayte (Providence, R.I.) placed first in the 800m (1:53.82). Nayte is currently ranked No. 1 in New England and 10th in the nation in that event.

Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished fourth in the weight throw (15.34m). Culhane is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation in that event.

Ryan Hazard (Wakefield, R.I.) placed fifth in the shot (14.88m) and 15th in the weight throw (13.89m). Hazard is currently ranked No. 3 in N.E. and 16th in the nation in the shot.

Edward Garofalo (Newport, R.I.) finished fifth in the triple jump (13.03m).
