Anna Vygoder (Smithfield, R.I.) won two events as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team opened the 2022-23 season in a 151-78 loss vs. Westfield State at the Sandra Surdut Pool in the RIC Recreation Center on Sunday afternoon.

• Vygoder placed first in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.90) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.31) and second in the 100-yard IM (1:09.98).

Olivia DeLuca (Providence, R.I.) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.78), second in the 50-yard butterfly (31.09) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:22.08).
