Providence, R.I.--Junior Anna Vygoder (Smithfield, R.I.) won two events as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team opened the 2022-23 season in a 151-78 loss vs. Westfield State at the Sandra Surdut Pool in the RIC Recreation Center on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Vygoder placed first in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.90) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.31) and second in the 100-yard IM (1:09.98).
 
• Junior Olivia DeLuca (Providence, R.I.) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.78), second in the 50-yard butterfly (31.09) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:22.08).
 
• Junior Meghan Laflamme (Smithfield, R.I.) placed second in the 50-yard backstroke (31.40), 50-yard freestyle (28.17) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.92).
 
• Junior Rebecca Fyrer (Cranston, R.I.) placed second in both the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:24.85) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:30.44) and third in both the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.46) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:43.59).
 
• Junior Ciara Ahern (Bristol, R.I.) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:24.85) and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (39.84), 100-yard freestyle (1:33.20) and the 200-yard freestyle (3:17.53).
 
• Freshman Juliana Cronin-Forman (North Kingstown, R.I.) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:24.85) and fourth in both the 50-yard breaststroke (44.20) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:40.62).
 
• Freshman Olivia Landry (Lincoln, R.I.) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:24.85) and fourth in both the 50-yard backstroke (53.43) and the 50-yard butterfly (47.93).
