Megan Philbrick (Johnston, R.I.) put down a team-high eight kills as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team was defeated by Plymouth State, 3-0, in Little East action played at the Murray Center this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC played well and built a five-point lead, 19-14, in the first set. After a timeout, the Panthers went on a huge 9-2 run to put them in position to win and take the set, 25-22.

• PSU would ride that momentum wave throughout the rest of the day, taking down the hosts in short order. Plymouth State beat the Anchorwomen, 25-15, and 25-12, in the final two sets. RIC amassed 10 total kills compared to PSU's 21 in the final two stanzas.

Grace Albritton (East Greenwich, R.I.) led the Anchorwomen in digs with seven on the day. Sophomore setters
Sydney Green (West Warwick, R.I.) and
Natalie Reid (North Attleboro, Mass.) combined for 13 assists, with seven and six, respectively.

Nora Ryan (Groton, Conn.) racked up a game high 12 kills on 15 attempts with no errors. Freshman setter
Kalista Butler (Philipsburg, Penn.) led the way with 12 assists.
