Castleton, Vt.--Junior outside hitter
Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team defeated Castleton, 3-2 (18-25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-12), in Little East action played at Glenbrook Gym on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the 2020-21 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• CU dominated the opening set as they climbed out to a 16-point lead, 24-8, before the Anchorwomen rattled off 10 straight points, but the Spartans rebounded and closed out the set to win by seven, 25-18.

• Castleton controlled the pace during the second set, as the Spartans built a nine-point, 18-9, lead before closing the door on the Anchorwomen by 10, 25-15.

• In the early stages of the third set, both teams traded points, before the Anchorwomen were able to rip off a 10-3 run and capture the set, 25-17.

• RIC came out in the fourth set with intensity as they used another big, 12-2, run to take an 18-8 lead over the Spartans.

• Castleton scored four straight points to cut its deficit to six, 19-13, before the Anchorwomen put their foot down and closed out the set by 11, 25-14, and even the match at two sets apiece.

• Back and forth action saw the score tied twice in the fifth set before the Anchorwomen rattled off five straight points to give RIC a 13-8 lead and the momentum to close out the set.

• Castleton used a pair of timeouts to slow down the momentum and scored four straight points before RIC Murphy was set up by junior setter

Angelly Polanco (Providence, R.I.) both recorded seven kills on the day.

• Conlon led the match with 36 assists and added 10 digs for a double-double effort.
