Providence, R.I.--Sophomore Jenna Lisi (Cranston, R.I.) and senior Victoria Vittori (New Bedford, Mass.) combined for a win at No. 1 doubles and won their respective singles matches as Rhode Island College opened the 2020-21 season with a 9-0 shutout win over Castleton in Little East women's tennis action played at the RIC Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

• RIC freshman Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) and senior Serena Bobola (Cranston, R.I.) defeated the Spartan freshmen duo of Kayon Morgan (Port St. Lucie, Fla) and Karoline Rettenbacher (Karnten, Austria), 8-0, at No. 3 doubles to open the match.
 
• Lisi and Vittori followed with an 8-1 win over junior Regina Marchese (Sunderland, Vt.) and senior Aliza Bogner (Colchester, Vt.) at first doubles.
 
• Seniors Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, R.I.) and Hailey Raskob (North Smithfield, R.I.) defeated CU junior Grace Sharkey (Purling, NY) and freshman Mia Manheimer (Norwich, Vt.), 8-1, at No. 2 doubles.
 
• Bobola defeated Rettenbacher (6-0, 6-0) at No. 6 singles.
 
• Lisi defeated Marchese (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles to clinch the match.
 
• Raskob defeated Sharkey (6-0, 6-0) at No. 3 singles.
 
• Macera defeated Manheimer (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4 singles.
 
• Zangari defeated Bogner (6-1, 6-0) at No. 2 singles.
 
• Vittori defeated sophomore Sandra Guyette (Wallingford, Conn.) (6-0, 6-0) at No. 5 singles to complete the sweep.
