Providence, R.I.--Freshman Anna Vygoder (Lincoln, R.I.) won three events as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team opened the 2020-21 season with a 116-115 loss vs. Plymouth State at the Sandra Surdut Swimming Pool in RIC's Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Vygoder finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke (34.03), 100-yard breastroke (1:15.87) and the 100-yard IM (1:09.18) and second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:05.34).
 
• Freshman Rebecca Fyrer (Cranston, R.I.) finished first in the 500-yard freestyle (7:00), second in both the 200-yard IM (2:53.31) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:06.40) and third in the 100-yard IM (1:23.78).
 
• Freshman Meghan Laflamme (Smithfield, R.I.) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (30.00), the 200-yard medley relay (2:05.34), 50-yard backstroke (32.00), 100-yard freestyle (1:06.62) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.80).
 
• Freshman Marta Matzko (Rumford, R.I.) finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:18.46), second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:05.34) and the 50-yard butterfly (34.03) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (1:07.18).
 
• Freshman Allison Picchioni (Cumberland, R.I.) finished second in both the 500-yard freestyle (7:27.37) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:06.40) and third in both the 50-yard backstroke (37.00) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.75).
 
• Sophomore Mary McBride (Rumford, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:05.34), third in the 50-yard freestyle (30.43) and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:42.62).
 
• Freshman Marie Sinyan (North Providence, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:06.40), third in both the 200-yard IM (3:04.68) and the 50-yard breaststroke (37.96) and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:27.43).
 
• Freshman Jordan Borge (Warren, R.I.) finished second in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:27.50) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:06.40) and third in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:31.12) and the 50-yard butterfly (35.03).
