Providence, R.I.—Four Rhode Island College Anchorwomen notched perfect shutout wins in singles action as RIC defeated Western Connecticut, 9-0, in Little East women's tennis action played at the RIC Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC, which has not lost a doubles match in 10 contests so far this fall, took all three in pairs action to start the day. Freshmen Amiah Sommer (Cumberland, R.I.) and Amara Devine (Greenville, R.I.) registered a perfect 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
• Junior Jenna Lisi (Cranston, R.I.) won in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles and freshman Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) clinched the match with a perfect shutout (6-0, 6-0) of her own at second singles.
 
• Junior Clara Siegmund (Kingston, Mass.) and sophomore Jaimi Vaillancourt (Tiverton, R.I.) won in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) without losing a game at No. 4 and six singles, respectively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at Salem State on Saturday, Oct. 9 (noon).
