Westfield, Mass.--Sophomore Meaghan Aucoin (Swansea, Mass.) established a new program record in the 50-yard backstroke as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team fell, 138-111, at Westfield State on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Aucoin finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:53.39), 100-yard backstroke (1:07.26) and the 50-yard butterfly (33:36) and second in the 50-yard backstroke (30:38), which broke the previous RIC record for that event.
 
• Junior Wenona Alexander (Warwick, R.I.) finished first in both the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:53.39) and the 100-yard IM (1:11.10) and second in both the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.04) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.71).
 
• Sophomore Meghan Laflamme (Smithfield, R.I.) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:53.39) and second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:18.10), 100-yard backstroke (1:07.70) and the 50-yard freestyle (27.69).
 
• Sophomore Rebecca Fyrer (Cranston, R.I.) finished second both the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:11.44) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:48.07) and third in both the 500-yard freestyle (6:45.26) and the 100-yard IM (1:20.56).
 
• Junior Mary McBride (Rumford, R.I.) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:53.39), third in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:28.11) and 50-yard freestyle (29.83) and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:10.62).
 
• Sophomore Sidney Almeida (Cranston, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:11.44) and the 200-yard medley relay (2:20.11) and fourth in both the 100-yard breastroke (1:27.13) and the 50-yard breaststroke (39.61).
 
• Sophomore Marta Matzko (Rumford, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:11.44), fourth in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (14:47.11) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:23.45) and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:57.45).
 
• Junior Brooke Galbraith (Smithfield, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:20.11) and the 100-yard IM (1:16.82), fourth in the 50-yard backstroke (34.49) and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:14.93).
 
• Sophomore Jordan Borge (Warren, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:20.11) and the 50-yard butterfly (36.60) and fifth in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:30.73) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:32.10).
 
• Sophomore Allison Picchioni (Cumberland, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:11.44), fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (14:51.04) and sixth in both the 500-yard freestyle (7:21.01) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:13.37).
 
• Sophomore Marie Sinyan (North Providence, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:20.11), fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke (41.51) and sixth in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:36.89) and the 50-yard freestyle (32.65).
