HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC jumped out in front, winning the first frame, 25-22. Lasell responded by taking the next two stanzas, both by four points, 25-21. The Anchorwomen, with their backs against the wall, tied the match at two sets apiece with a seven-point, 25-18, in the fourth frame. RIC then rode that momentum to win the fifth and final set by three, 15-12.

Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) knocked down 23 kills and 13 digs to record another double-double.

• Hodovanec was dominant from the service line with eight service aces.
