Undefeated Plymouth State Downs Anchorwomen, 3-0

Plymouth, N.H.--Freshman setter Sydney Green (West Warwick, R.I.) was marvelous from the service line, racking up seven aces, as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team fell, 3-0, at Plymouth State in Little East action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Plymouth State took the first set handedly by 12 points, 25-13. PSU then continued its dominance with an eight-point decision, 25-17, in set No. 2. The Anchorwomen made it close, but the hosts prevailed by five, 25-20, to take the third frame and stay undefeated on the season.
 
• PSU freshman outside hitter Lilli Stogner (Weare, N.H.) equaled RIC junior outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass) match-high 10 kills. It was Stogner's fifth match with a double-digit kill effort.
 
• Panther senior setter Alexa Price (Moultonborough, N.H.) was exceptional setting up teammates, racking up a match-high 34 assists.
 
• RIC junior libero Wynter Conlon (East Walpole, Mass) led RIC with 17 digs. Green registered a match-best seven aces.  It was the highest ace total in a match on the season.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC hit .057 (22-16-105). The Panthers hit .235 (41-14-115).
 
• Plymouth State led in kills (41-22), assists (40-19) and digs (61-47).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face Maine-Presque Isle (2 p.m.) at Plymouth State.
