Women's Tennis Clinches Little East Regular Season Championship

Dartmouth, Mass.—Rhode Island College defeated UMass Dartmouth, 9-0, to clinch at least a share of the 2021 Little East Women's Tennis Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen have secured the No. 1 seed and the homecourt advantage throughout the upcoming 2021 Little East Championship, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
 
• Rhode Island College can claim the outright title with a win over UMass Boston on Saturday, Oct. 16 (1 p.m.).
 
• RIC has now won seven consecutive LEC Regular Season Championships and 13 total in program history.
 
• Junior Jenna Lisi (Cranston, R.I.) returned to the lineup and won in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles.
 
• Junior Clara Siegmund (Pomfret, Conn.) and Sarah Gonick (Kingston, Mass.) each pitched shutouts (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively.
 
• Senior Serena Bobola (Cranston, R.I.) and freshman Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) were perfect in an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
