Bridgeport, Conn.--Freshman Kelsey Gates (Orangeville, PA) placed fifth in the all-around (36.600) as the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team placed fourth with a team score of 175.825 at Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon.
THE BASICS
• Div. II Bridgeport finished in first place (193.625). Div. I Brown took second place (190.800) and Div. I Yale placed third (190.375).
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gates placed 21st on vault (9.150), 16th on bars (9.150), 20th on beam (8.800) and 12th on floor (9.500).
• Senior Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) placed 15th on vault (9.400) and 19th on bars (8.525).
• Freshman Shai Benz(East Setauket, NY) placed 18th on beam (8.900).
• Senior Chandler Lynn (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI) placed 18th on floor (9.225).
• Junior Kaela Skerl (Albuquerque, NM) placed 19th on bars (8.525), 24th on beam (7.675) and 19th on floor (9.175).
