Krystal R. (Bilek) Degnan ’10 was a standout third baseman on RIC’s powerhouse softball teams from 2005-08. She played in 148 games, starting 139 of them. She totaled 409 at-bats, a .321 batting average, 73 runs scored, 131 hits, 31 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 93 RBI, 192 total bases, a .469 slugging percentage and 61 walks. At the conclusion of her career, Bilek ranked second all-time at RIC in doubles, home runs, and walks, fourth in sacrifice flies (4), fifth in hits, total bases and slugging percentage, sixth in at-bats and assists (195), eighth in runs scored and 10th in batting.
As a senior in 2008, she was named Second Team All-New England by the NFCA, Second Team All-Little East and was the 2008 LEC Softball Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. As a junior in 2007, Bilek was named to the NCAA Div. III New England Regional All-Tournament Team at third base.
As a sophomore in 2006, she was named Second Team All-Little East. As a freshman in 2005, Bilek was named First Team All-Little East as a designated player.
She played on four consecutive Little East Regular Season Championship teams, three LEC Tournament Championship squads, played in the NCAA Tournament three times and reached the NCAA National Championship Round twice.
