Providence, R.I.--Freshman Jenna Lisi (Cranston, RI) has been named the Rhode Island College Female Athlete of The Week for her performance in a 2-0 week for the women's tennis team.
She was victorious in both of her singles matches, earning the first win vs. Western Connecticut at No. 1 singles, (6-3, 6-1) and then defeated Salem State's reigning Little East Player of the Year Anastasia Startseva (6-0, 6-4) at No. 1 singles on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Lisi went 1-1 in doubles, picking up a win at No. 1 doubles vs. Western Connecticut (8-7, 7-3) with junior teammate Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, RI) on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
For the season, Lisi is 11-1 in singles and is unbeaten with a 7-0 mark vs. Little East opposition. In doubles, she is 11-1 on the season and 6-1 vs. LEC opponents.
