Gallagher and Lindblom Earn All-Region Honors as Wrestling Takes 15th at NCAA Div. III Northeast Regional

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior Samuel Lindblom (Waterford, CT) and senior Michael Gallagher (Saunderstown, RI) each earned All-Northeast Region honors as the Anchormen notched a 15th place (17 teams) finish at the 2019 NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Wrestling Championship, hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Wildcat Center on Saturday and Sunday.

THE BASICS
The Anchormen finished with a team score of 23.0, while host Johnson & Wales won the team championship with a score of 186.0.


HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gallagher registered a 3-2 record for a seventh place finish at 184 lbs., for the Anchormen. He pinned Castleton's Jason Hoffman at 4:01 in the seventh place match. It marks the second straight campaign Gallagher earned All-Region accolades. He secured All-Region honors as a junior in 2017 when he finished second to secure a bid to the NCAA Div. III National Championship.

• Lindblom also notched a seventh place finish, going 3-2 on the weekend at 149 lbs. He earned All-Northeast region accolades after notching a 13-5 major decision victory against Wesleyan's Shane Ross in the seventh place match.
