Springfield, Mass.—Freshman Travis Manick (Methuen, MA) posted a second place finish at 197 lbs. as the Rhode Island College wrestling team notched a 13th place finish (17 teams) at the 2018 Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Saturday.

THE BASICS
Rhode Island College finished 13th (17 teams) with a team score of 39.5. Springfield won the title with a team score of 115.0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•  Manick went 4-1 record with three pins to lead the way for the Anchormen.

• RIC senior Michael Gallagher (Saunderstown, RI) went 4-1 with a pair of pins to notch a fifth place finish at 184 lbs. One of Gallagher's wins was a pin.

• Junior Samuel Lindblom (Waterford, CT) posted a 2-2 record at 157 lbs.

• Freshman Nathan Stemple (Marlborough, MA) was 1-2 at 174 lbs., while junior Franky Roman (Parlin, NJ) registered a 1-2 record at 141 lbs.

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Western New England at the Recreation Center on Friday, Nov. 30 (7 p.m.).
