Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior forward Ornela Livramento (Pawtucket, RI) was named the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Little East honors, while freshman forward Willcia McBorrough (Providence, RI) was named the league's Rookie of the Year, for their respective performances during the 2018-19 season.
This is Livramento's second All-LEC award, having secured Second Team All-LEC honors as a sophomore in 2017-18. Livramento played in 27 games, starting 26 of them. She averaged 10.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.4 steals per game. Livramento scored a season-high 20 points vs. UMass Boston on Feb. 19. She grabbed a season-best 13 rebounds and handed out four assists in a game twice. Livramento had four blocks vs. UMass Dartmouth on Feb. 22. She had six steals vs. Castleton on Jan. 30. Livramento compiled three double-doubles on the season.
McBorrough played in 27 games, starting all of them. She averaged 8.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. McBorrough scored in double figures in 13 games this winter. She scored a season-high 17 points vs. UMass Boston on Jan. 12. McBorrough grabbed a season-best 14 rebounds vs. Plymouth State on Jan. 23. She compiled four double-doubles on the season.
Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove's team finished the season with an 18-9 overall record and a 9-7 (fifth place) mark in the Little East.
