  • LOTTI-PROCTOR & RILEY SELECTED FOR LITTLE EAST ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

    Rhode Island College Athletic Hall of Famers Christie Lotti-Proctor ‘08 and Nicole Riley ’09 will be inducted into the Little East Hall of Fame on Oct. 14, 2018 at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland, Maine.

    Senior catcher Chelsea Schott (Meriden, CT) went 4-for-7 with a run scored and one RBI as Rhode Island College closed out the 2018 season with a split at UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon. RIC took the opener, 5-4, and the Beacons won the nightcap, 10-3.

    Freshman right fielder Erica Fluskey (Trumbull, CT) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI as the Rhode Island College softball team was swept at Western Connecticut in a Little East Conference doubleheader on Tuesday evening. Western Connecticut took the opener, 4-0, and finished the sweep with a 6-5 victory in the nightcap.

    The Rhode Island College softball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at Wheaton on Sunday afternoon. Wheaton took the first game, 9-1 (six innings), before completing the sweep with a 4-1 win in the nightcap.

    Senior shortstop Nicole Venturini (North Scituate, RI) went 3-for-6 with three runs scored, a double, a homer and two RBI as the Rhode Island College softball team lost a doubleheader at Keene State in Little East action on Saturday afternoon. The Owls took game one, 10-4, and then the nightcap, 7-3.

    The Rhode Island College softball team was swept by Southern Maine in a Little East Conference doubleheader played at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon. Southern Maine posted a 3-0 win in the opener and finished the sweep with a 3-1 win in the nightcap.

    Junior outfielder/catcher Emma Simmons (Saunderstown, RI) went 5-for-6 with three runs scored and an RBI as the Rhode Island College softball team was swept by Worcester State in a non-conference doubleheader on the road on Thursday evening. Worcester State posted an 8-7 win in the opener and completed the sweep with a 9-5 win in the nightcap.

    The Rhode Island College softball team swept intra-state rival Roger Williams in a non-conference doubleheader played at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Tuesday. RIC posted a 9-5 win in the opener and completed the sweep with an 11-8 victory in the nightcap.

Bazar Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

    Rhode Island College lost both games of a doubleheader to Plymouth State in the Little East opener for both clubs on Saturday afternoon at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex. The Panthers edged RIC, 3-1, in the first game and ended game two, 10-0, in six innings.
  • BEARS TAKE TWO FROM ANCHORWOMEN IN MARATHON DOUBLEHEADER

    Junior center fielder Emma Simmons (Saunderstown, RI) went 4-for-9 with a double and two RBI as Rhode Island College dropped both games of a doubleheader to Bridgewater State (9-2, 11-7) at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Tuesday evening. Game one took two hours to complete, while the nightcap went 11 innings and took three hours to finish.

    Rhode Island College junior pitcher Briana Gough (West Warwick, RI) went 4-for-5 with five runs scored, two doubles and three RBI, while also hurling a game one four-hit shutout, as the Anchorwomen swept Wheelock (6-0, 19-0) in a doubleheader played at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.
