Men's Cross Country Places Eighth at WNE Invitational

Springfield, Mass.–Sophomore Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) placed 30th overall with a time of 28:50 to lead the Rhode Island College men's cross country team to an eighth place (14 teams) finish at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• RIC finished in eighth place with 248.0 points, while Harvard won the invite with a team score of 20.0.
• There were 14 teams and 134 runners competing at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman Matthew Russom (Port Kent, NY) finished 43rd overall (29:22).

• Senior Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) registered a 60th place performance (30.00).

• Junior Mohammed Chaghlil (Warwick, RI) placed 62nd (30:10), while junior Dylan Brobisky (West Warwick, RI) finished in 84th place (32:11).

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the 2018 Little East Championship at Bryant University on Saturday, Oct. 27.
