Springfield, Mass.-Sophomore Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) notched a 14th place finish (28:21) to lead the Rhode Island College men's cross country team to a ninth place finish (14 teams) at the 2017 Western New England University Invitational on Saturday.

 

THE BASICS

• The Anchormen finished with 232 points, while the UMass Dartmouth took home the team title with 61 points on the afternoon.

• There were a total of 14 complete teams and 106 runners competing at the event.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Freshman Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) registered a 26th place finish (29:09) for the Anchormen.

• Junior Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) finished in 58th place finish (32:00), while junior Mohammed Chaghlil (Warwick, RI) was in 70th place with a time of 33:49.

• Freshman Dylan Brobisky (West Warwick, RI) recorded an 80th place finished with a time of 35:36.

 

BY THE NUMBERS

• RIC averaged a time of 31:47 over the 8K course.

 

WHO'S NEXT

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2017 Little East Conference Championship, hosted by Keene State on Oct. 28.
