Men's Track & Field Competes at MIT Final Qualifier

Cambridge, Mass.--The Rhode Island College men's outdoor track & field team competed at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• The meet was an individual meet with no team scoring and featured student-athletes looking to meet the qualifying marks for the upcoming NCAA Div. III National Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) was third in the hammer (53.96m).

• Freshman Matthew Thibaudeau (Lincoln, RI) placed sixth in the hammer (50.81m).

• Senior Jake Brierly (Lincoln, RI) took seventh in the hammer (49.44m).

• Junior Joseph Palazzo (North Providence, RI) notched a ninth place finish in the hammer (41.52m).

WHAT'S NEXT
• In upcoming action, selected members of the team will compete at the NCAA Div. III National Championship, which is held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on May 23-24.
