Hanover, N.H.--Senior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) notched an eighth place finish in both the hammer and the discus as the Rhode Island College men's outdoor track & field team competed at the 2018 New England Open Championship, hosted by Dartmouth College on Friday and Saturday.
• The Anchormen finished the meet in a tie for 33rd place (36 teams) with 2.0 points. Southern Connecticut won the meet with 113.50 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Spruill registered an eighth place finish in both the hammer (52.71m) and the discus (46.84m).
• Senior Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) posted a 14th place finish in the preliminaries of the 110m hurdles (15.54).
• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the MIT Last Chance Meet on Thursday, May 17 (10 a.m.).
