WAGNAC WINS 400M HURDLES AT YELLOW JACKET INVITATIONAL

Springfield, Mass.—Sophomore Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) took home first place in the 400m hurdles (55.47) as the Rhode Island College men's track & field team competed at AIC's Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

THE BASICS

It was an individual meet with no team scoring that featured competitors from Div. I, II and III institutions.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Senior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) finished second in the hammer (51.62m), third in the discus (41.48m) and 13th in the shot (11.04m).

• Senior Jake Brierly (Lincoln, RI) finished third in the hammer (50.13m).

• Senior Seth Larbi (Pawtucket, RI) finished fifth in the hammer (42.43m).

• Freshman Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) finished third in the 3,000m steeplechase (11:12.85).

• Senior Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) finished fourth in the 100m hurdles (15.61) and 12th in the 400m hurdles (1:01.81).

• Senior Matt Charles (North Providence, RI) finished 11th in both the 100m (11.63) and the 200m (23.30).

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational on Saturday, April 14.
