Men's Tennis Stays Perfect in LEC Play With Win at UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth, Mass.—Sophomores Ethan Hoy (West Warwick, RI) and Mike Shea (Greenville, RI) each collected wins in singles and doubles as Rhode Island College secured a 6-3 win over UMass Dartmouth in a Little East match played at the UMD courts on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore Alex Bourque (North Smithfield, RI) and senior Alan Esposito (Clinton, CT) joined Hoy and Shea in posting singles triumphs on the day for the visiting Anchormen.

• Shea and senior Chandler Scott (Ashaway, RI) teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles.  

• Hoy and senior Matthew Gambardella (West Warwick, RI) accounted for Rhode Island College's sixth point of the contest with an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 doubles spot.

• Sophomore Tristin Viale (Westfield, MA) collected a pair of triumphs in the setback for the host Corsairs, as he notched a straight set win at No. 2 singles and teamed up with senior Anthony Joseph (Acushnet, MA) for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.  

• Sophomore Baylen Harper (Leicester, MA) also posted a straight set triumph at No. 3 singles to round out UMass Dartmouth's scoring.

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Salem State in Little East action on Saturday, April 13 (1 p.m.).
