Senior Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) notched a third place finish with a score of 145 (74, 71) to lead the Rhode Island College men's golf team to a 12th place finish at the 2017 Williams Invitational played at the Taconic Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

 

THE BASICS

Rhode Island College (Team Score: 634 (320, 314) finished in 12th place (19 teams), while Trinity took home the team title (Team Score: 584: 294, 290).

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sophomore Nathan Patterson (Conway, MA) finished tied for 38th place with a 158 (79,79), while junior Mike Caparco (Johnston, RI) was tied for 59th with a 163 (82, 81).

• Junior Ryan Badeau (Woonsocket, RI) finished tied for 73rd with a 168 (85, 83).

• Senior Josh Macera (Cranston, RI) rounded out the RIC golfers and finished tied for 79thwith a 175 (87, 88).

 

BY THE NUMBERS

• The par-71 course measured 6,808 yards and the tournament featured 19 teams with 116 golfers.

 

WHO'S NEXT

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Westfield State Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 26 (10 a.m.).
