Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore guard Adham Floyd (Worcester, MA) and freshman guard Dayshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, RI) were recognized by the Little East Conference for their respective performances in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.
Floyd was named the Little East Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. He helped the Anchormen to a 2-0 week as RIC defeated Bridgewater State, 77-62, on Nov. 20 and St. Joseph (CT), 67-57, on Nov. 25. Floyd averaged 20.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.5 spg. He had 18 points, 15 boards, two assists and two steals in the win vs. the Bears. Floyd scored 22 points to go along with eight boards in the win over the Blue Jays. For the season, he has played in seven games, starting all of them. Floyd is averaging 19.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.3 apg and 2.1 spg.
Tengbeh was named the Little East Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. He averaged 16.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.0 apg and 2.0 spg. Tengbeh had 15 points, six boards, four assists and a steal in the win over the Bears. He followed up that performance with 18 points, which included five treys, to go along with nine boards vs. the Blue Jays. For the season, he has played in seven games, starting all of them. He is averaging 14.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.9 apg and 2.6 spg.
Head Coach Tom Glynn’s team is currently 6-1. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East play at home vs. Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Nov. 28 (7:30 p.m.).
