ANCHORWOMEN FINISH THIRD AT HARRIET MARRANCA INVITATIONAL

Ithaca, N.Y.-Rhode Island College junior Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) notched a first place finish in the all-around (34.800), while freshman Kaela Skerl (Albuquerque, NM) took second in the all-around (34.100), as the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team notched a third place finish at the Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational hosted by Ithaca College on Sunday.

 

THE BASICS

• Rhode Island College finished in third place with a team score of 174.925, while host Ithaca took home first place with a score if 189.575. Brockport took second with a score of 183.800.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Murphy placed 18th on vault (8.500), 15th on bars (8.250), 12th on beam (8.900) and sixth on floor (9.150).

• Skerl placed 16th on vault (8.900), 13th on bars (8.675), 18th on beam (8.450) and 16th on floor (8.450) for the Anchorwomen.

• RIC freshman Christa Vaccaro (Winthrop, MA) finished 13th on vault (9.150) and took 14thon bars (8.525).

• Sophomore Grace Davis (Royersford, PA) finished eighth on beam (9.200) and 13th on floor (8.825) for the Anchorwomen.

• RIC senior Alexandria Otis (Windham, NH) was ninth on beam (9.1250), while sophomore Chandler Lynn (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI) posted a 12th place finish on bars (8.725).

• Senior Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) notched a 10th place finish in floor (9.050).

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Ursinus on Saturday, March 3 (1 p.m.).
