    Rhode Island College baseball junior first baseman Tyler Walsh (Cumberland, RI) has been named a Third-Team All-New England selection from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). The NEIBA and the ABCA honored 55 players from 27 different schools in the New England region.

    Fourth-seeded Rhode Island College knocked off third-seeded Southern Maine, 7-3, in the opening round of the Little East Conference Baseball Tournament at UMass Boston’s Monan Park on Friday morning. The game began on Thursday evening, but was halted after the bottom of the fifth inning due to dense fog at the field.

    Senior center fielder Brad Douglas (South Kingstown, RI) went 3-for-5 with three RBI as fourth-seeded Rhode Island College lost, 10-5, vs. No. 2-seeded Eastern Connecticut in game six of the 2018 Little East Conference Baseball Championship, hosted by UMass Boston on Thursday night.

    Junior first baseman Tyler Walsh (Cumberland, RI) went 5-for-9 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI as the Rhode Island College baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a split of a Little East Conference doubleheader at No. 8 UMass Boston on Friday afternoon. UMass Boston posted a 7-6 win in the opener, while RIC rebounded for a 16-13 victory in the nightcap.

Western Connecticut posted a 14-10 win in the opener with Rhode Island College salvaging the split with a 9-7 win in the nightcap.

The Warriors edged RIC, 13-12, in 10 innings in the opener and the Anchormen took the nightcap, 16-9.
