Talia Cost (Smithfield, R.I.) recorded her first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, as Rhode Island College defeated Lesley, 2-1, at Alumni Stadium on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen proved to be more dominant in a scoreless first half as they outshot the Lynx (10-5).
• Lesley opened the first minute of the second half with a header into the back of the net to take the lead, 1-0.
• Just under four minutes later, sophomore midfielder
Sarah Pimentel (Cranston, R.I.) took a shot from 35 yards out and that went over the Lynx's keepers outstretched hands to tie the game.
• Junior forward
Caitlyn Terceiro (Warren, R.I.) and sophomore midfielder
Bryn Williams (Hope, R.I.) helped find Cost streaking in from the top corner of the box for the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute.
• Senior goalkeeper
Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) only had to make a pair of saves, thanks to the Anchorwomen's outstanding defense, to earn her seventh win (7-2).
• It was Pimentel's second goal in as many games.
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Salve Regina on Wednesday, Sept. 30 (4 p.m.).
