Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) won in straight sets at No. 1 singles as Rhode Island College blanked winless Curry, 7-0, in the club's first match of the spring semester at the RIC Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC swept all three doubles matches as sophomore
Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner Maine) and senior
Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) notched a 6-0 shutout at the top pairs spot.
• The Anchorwomen made short work of the Colonels in singles action as Peacock, sophomore
Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wis.) and Botelho each pitched shutouts to secure the win.
• RIC lost just two games during the entire match, which was completed in one hour and 15 minutes.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in the NCAA Div. III Championship in May.
