2022-23 Rhode Island College Women's Basketball Season Summary

Providence, R.I.—Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove guided the Anchorwomen to the greatest season in program history. The team established a new record for wins with a 28-4 overall mark and went 15-1 in the Little East (first place tie).
 
Rhode Island College tied Eastern Connecticut for the Little East Regular Season Championship. It the third straight season that the Anchorwomen have claimed at least a share of the LEC regular season crown. The Warriors garnered the top seed in the Little East Championship by virtue of winning a coin toss.
 
After earned a bye in the first round of the Little East Championship, the No. 2 seeded Anchorwomen defeated No. 3 seeded UMass Dartmouth, 66-60, in the semifinals on Feb. 23.
 
RIC traveled to Eastern Connecticut and took down the No. 1-seeded Warriors, 61-52, to capture the program third straight and fifth overall LEC Championship.
 
The Anchorwomen would embark on the NCAA Tournament run for the ages, reaching the NCAA Div. III Championship's Final Four for the first time in school history.
 
In the first round, RIC downed Rowan, 67-59, on March 3 and then defeated No. 3 and host Scranton, 62-55, on March 4 to reach the Sweet 16.
 
The Anchorwomen went on to defeat No. 10 Chicago, 64-56, on March 10 in the Sectional Semifinal. Rhode Island College took down No. 18 and host Babson, 60-47, a team that defeated the Anchorwomen earlier in the season, in the Sectional Final and earn a trip to the Final Four.
 
RIC was pitted against the No. 11 team in the country, Christopher Newport, in the National Semifinal. The Anchorwomen held a lead heading into the fourth quarter before ultimately falling, 56-51, on March 18.
 
Cosgrove was named the Region 2 Coach of the Year by D3hoops.com, as well as being named a finalist for the 2023 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National Div. III Coach of the Year award.
 
Senior guard Antonia Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) closed out her career having played in 97 games, starting 59 of them. She totaled 654 career points, 260 rebounds, 173 assists and 50 steals. For her career, she averaged 6.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
 
As a senior in 2022-23, Corsinetti played in 32 games, starting all of them. She averaged 7.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 1.8 apg. Corsinetti registered a season-high 21 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists in a 56-42 win over Keene State on Dec. 10. She had 17 points and three rebounds in a 61-52 win over Eastern Connecticut in the Little East Championship on Feb. 25.
 
As a junior in 2021-22, Corsinetti was named Second Team All-Little East. She was named the Little East Championship's Most Outstanding Player. Corsinetti played in 29 games, starting 23 of them. She averaged 8.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 2.0 apg. Corsinetti scored double-digits in 11 games this season. She registered a career-high 27 points and knocked down seven three-point field goals in a 70-55 win vs. UMass Dartmouth in the Little East Women's Basketball Championship final on Feb. 26. Corsinetti notched 21 points and three steals in a 65-46 win versus Bridgewater State on Nov. 23. She was named Little East Player of the Week twice on the season.
 
As a sophomore in 2020-21, Corsinetti played in 10 games, starting one of them. She averaged 4.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.6 apg. Corsinetti had 10 points in a 73-52 in at Southern Maine on Feb. 19. She recorded a season-high five boards to go along with five points in the 72-20 win over Plymouth State in the LEC semifinals on March 3. Corsinetti dished out three assists and contributed eight points in a 47-31 win over Plymouth State on Feb. 13.
 
As a freshman in 2019-20, Corsinetti played in 26 games, starting three of them. She averaged 4.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg and 1.6 apg. Corsinetti had a season-best 17 points to go along with three assists, one board and one block in a 68-63 overtime loss at Castleton on Feb. 1. She scored 15 points and handed out a pair of assists in the 60-56 win over Regis on Jan. 22. Corsinetti dished out a season-best four assists in an 86-72 win over Westfield State on Nov. 22. She swiped a season-high four steals in a 72-62 loss at UMass Dartmouth on Jan. 29. She was named the Little East Rookie of the Week once on the season.
 
She is a wellness and exercise science major, while minoring in coaching and accounting, and a 2019 graduate of St. Mary Academy – Bay View
 
Senior forward Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.) was named First Team All-Region 2 by D3hoops.com. Booth was also named Second Team All-Region by the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and was a  First Team All-Little East selection. She played in 32 games, starting 31 of them. She averaged 12.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg and 0.8 bpg. Booth posted 20 double-digit scoring efforts and nine games with 10 or more rebounds. She had 22 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of steals in a 66-47 trouncing of Endicott on Nov. 19. Booth scored a season-high 25 points to go along with five assists, five rebounds and two steals in an 87-47 win vs. Plymouth State on Jan. 14. She had four straight games of 10 or more points in the NCAA Div. III Tournament. Booth was named to the NEWBA Team of the Week three times and was named Little East Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Senior guard Jeniyah Jones (Randolph, Mass.) was named to the Little East's All-Defensive Team for the second straight season. Jones was named the Little East Championship's Most Outstanding Player. She played in 32 games, starting all of them. She averaged 9.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 2.1 apg and 2.2 spg. Jones had 15 double-digit scoring outbursts and 22 contests with multiple steals, which included a streak of 12 games. She had 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals in a 61-52 win against Bates on Dec. 30. Jones stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 75-35 win over Southern Maine on Jan. 25. She had 15 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 64-56 win over Chicago in the NCAA Tournament on March 10. Jones was named to the NEWBA Team of the Week one time and was named Little East Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Senior center Neleesha Meunier (Leominster, Mass.) played in 31 games, starting two of them. She averaged 6.9 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Meunier scored a season-high 15 points to go along with seven boards in just 16 minutes in a 67-59 win over Rowan in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on March 3. She played 16 minutes and scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in an 87-47 win vs. Plymouth State on Jan. 14.
 
Sophomore forward Jayda Bing (Hamilton, N.J.) played in 29 games, starting one of them. She averaged 3.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 0.9 apg. Bing scored a season-high 10 points in a 61-52 win over Eastern Connecticut in the Little East Championship on Feb. 25. Bing had seven points and six rebounds in a 66-60 win vs. UMass Dartmouth in the Little East Championship semifinal on Feb. 23.
 
Sophomore guard McKenzie Field (Glocester, R.I.) played in 22 games. She averaged 0.8 ppg and 0.8 rpg. Field registered a season-best five points with five made free throws in a 72-30 victory vs. Keene State on Jan. 28.
 
Sophomore guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) was named to the Little East's All-Defensive Team. She played in 30 games, starting all of them. She averaged 8.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.5 apg and 1.4 spg. Medbury had 13 instances of scoring 10 or more points and 10 games with five or more assists. She had 20 points, seven assists and seven rebounds in a 60-47 win over Babson in the NCAA Tournament on March 11. Medbury had 12 points and 12 rebounds in a 62-55 win vs. Scranton in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 4. She scored 11 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out five assists in a 75-35 routing of Southern Maine on Jan. 25.
 
Sophomore guard Dejah Middleton (New Haven, Conn.) played in 27 games. She averaged 2.0 ppg and 1.2 rpg. Middleton scored a career-high nine points and added four rebounds in a 67-38 victory against Emerson on Jan. 7.
 
Sophomore forward Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) was named Second Team All-Little East for the second consecutive season. She played in 32 games, starting 30 of them. She averaged 11.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.0 apg and 1.1 bpg. Nardoliilo reached double-digits in points 17 times and in rebounds eight times on the season, which included four double-doubles. She had a dominant three-game stretch from Nov. 27-Dec. 7, where she had 21 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in a 72-43 win over Wesleyan. She followed that game with 23 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and a steal in a 67-56 win over Castleton. Nardolillo then had 16 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and three blocks in a 63-37 win against Southern Maine. Nardolillo was named to the NEWBA Team of the Week once this season.
 
Freshman guard Elli Cox (Deerfield, N.H.) played in 24 games. She averaged 1.3 rpg. Cox had one point, five rebounds, two assists and three steals in 11 minutes off the bench in a 72-30 win vs. Keene State on Jan. 28.
 
Freshman guard Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) played in 28 games, starting two of them. She averaged 3.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.8 apg and 0.6 spg. Greene scored a career-best nine points on four separate occasions. She had three points, eight boards, three assists, two steals and a block in a 63-37 win over Southern Maine on Dec. 7.
 
Freshman forward Hailey Malozzi (Maynard, Mass.) played in 20 games. She averaged 1.2 ppg and 0.7 rpg. Malozzi had six points, two rebounds and a steal in eight minutes off the bench in a 75-30 win over UMass Boston on Feb. 11.
