Rachel C. Riley-Schafer ’12 is arguably one of the greatest low post players in RIC women’s basketball history. She played in 108 games, starting 100 of them, from 2008-12. During her time with the Anchorwomen, she totaled 1,263 points, 1,043 rebounds, 169 steals, 135 assists and 87 blocks. Riley is just one of three players to record 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds in program history. She ranks third all-time in career rebounds and is eighth all-time in career points.

As a senior in 2011-2012, Riley was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Women’s DIII News. She was also named First Team All-Little East and All-ECAC, Second Team All-Region by the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) and Third Team All-Northeast Region by D3Hoops.com.

She was named First Team All-LEC as a junior, Second Team All-LEC as a sophomore and was named the league’s All-Rookie Team after her freshman campaign. Along with Coro, Riley-Schafer helped the Anchorwomen to one of the program’s greatest seasons in RIC history in 2011-12 as the club won the LEC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and reached the second round of the NCAA tourney.
