Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College freshman swimmer Wenona Alexander (Warwick, RI) has been named the Rhode Island College Female Athlete of the Week for February 11.
Alexander registered three top-10 finishes to lead the Rhode Island College women's swimming team to a seventh place (seven teams) finish at the 2019 Little East Conference Championship, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday. She finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.46) and was ninth in both the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.18) and the 400-yard IM (5:22.17). She also had the anchor leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that finished seventh (4:29.69).
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to MIT for the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship on Feb. 21-24.
